Glee Slippers Free Crochet Pattern

Do you need a cute and quick pair of slippers? Well, these are the ones for you! By using the basic stitches, these are created from the sole up. Mix and match colors to fit the style you want and crochet from there! I love these because they are 1) basic enough to try even if you're a beginner and 2) cute enough to make over and over for gifts! Enjoy this pattern and have fun watching your little ones wear them.

Quick note, if you are intimidated by shoes, don't be! I've heard so many people say, " I can't make shoes," or "I can't do that, my shoes will turn out two different sizes." Well, let me tell you, this is easy. The stitches are basic, not surprises and if you can make your stitches consistently the same size, and match the gauge for the pattern--then you're good to go. So, give it a try and if you have any questions, post them below the pattern and I'll answer there.

Materials:
Vanna’s Choice, worsted weight #4, 100% acrylic (170yd/156m; 3.5oz/100g per skein)
1 skein #860-153 Black
1 skein#860-100 White

Hook: E/4-3.50mm hook or size to obtain gauge
1 stitch marker
2 medium buttons
Sewing thread and needle

Legend:
Chain (ch)
Stitch (st)
Skip (sk)
Slip Stitch (sl st)
Single Crochet (sc)
Half Double Crochet (hdc)
Double Crochet (dc)

Gauge:
16 sts x 16 rows = 4” square in sc

Measurement:
Size 6-9 months (adjust gauge accordingly to fit larger/smaller sizes)

Notes:
1. The sole is worked from the center in joined rounds. Mark the first stitch of the round with a stitch marker (optional).
2. The side panel and top are made directly onto the sole.
3. When joining the rounds for the sole, the sl st will not count as a stitch
4. To change colors, push hook through the next stitch, pull yarn back through, yarn over with the NEXT color, and pull through. Color change is complete.
5. When you change colors, you will carry the old yarn, not fasten if off. That will allow you to simply pick the yarn up later with no ends to weave in.
