Baby Bloom Cocoon Free Crochet Pattern

Cuddle your new sweet baby in this thick and thin cocoon. The yarn is unique and makes for a wonderful photography prop as it swaddles the baby. This cocoon works up fast and makes for a great last minute baby shower gift!  It is made with a bulky #5 yarn and trimmed in a medium #4 yarn. It is made in joined rounds and finished with a sweet shell...but if you're making it for boys you can adjust the edging as needed!


Yarn:
Color A: 2 Skeins Yarn Bee Finale Yarn (Mock thick and thin) (65 yards EACH)
Bulky #5 weight

Color B: Vanna's Choice,
Medium #4 weight

Hook: N-9.0mm

Gauge: 4 inches in dc = 4 rows x 9 stitches

Measurement:
Top to bottom: 16.5inches
Width at top (widest): 17 inches
Width at middle: 10 inches

Notes:
1. Place a stitch marker at the beginning of each round after round to keep a visual of the
beginning stitch.
2. The first ch 2 will not be a st, sl st to the first dc of the round to join.

To begin:
Using Color A, ch 4.
Round 1: 10 dc in first chain. (10)
Round 2: Working continuously in the round 2dc in each stitch, sl st to the first st to join. (20)
Round 3: Ch 2, * dc, 2 dc in the next st, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to the first st to join.. (30)
Round 4: Ch 2, *dc 2, 2 dc in the next st, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to the first st to join.. (40)
Round 5: Ch 2, *dc 3, 2 dc in the next st, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to the first st to join.. (50)
Round 6: Ch 2, *dc 4, 2 dc in the next st, repeat from * to the end of the round, sl st to the first st to join. (60)
Round 7-20: Ch 2, dc in each stitch around, sl st to the first st to join. (60)
Round 21: Ch 2, *dc 3, 2 dc and repeat from the * to the end of the round, sl st to the first st to join.
Round 22: Ch 2, *dc 4, 2 dc and repeat from the * to the end of the round, sl st to the first st to join.
Round 23: Ch 2, * dc5, 2dc and repeat from the * to the end of the round, sl st to the first st to join.. Fasten off and weave in ends.
Round 24: Join Color B, ch1, *sk 2 stitches, 5 dc in the next, sk 2 stitches and sc in the next, repeat from * to the end, sl st to the first st to join. Fasten off and weave in ends.
